AI Solutions installed the low-voltage systems throughout the facility, including voice and data cabling, fiber optic backbone infrastructure, wireless communications, nurse call, building automation, access control, security, distributed antenna systems (DAS), and audiovisual systems.
Together, these systems support communication between caregivers, connect critical technology throughout the hospital, enhance building security, and help patients, visitors, and healthcare professionals stay connected throughout the facility.

As one of the largest healthcare construction projects in the region, the Kamin Tower expanded UPMC's ability to provide care for patients across Western Pennsylvania and beyond. Projects like this demonstrate how specialized electrical contractors install the technology infrastructure that modern hospitals rely on every day.
COMMUNITY IMPACT
The UPMC Presbyterian Kamin Tower added a new 17-story patient bed tower to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, expanding one of the region's leading medical centers. The project included 636 patient rooms and a 450-space parking garage, creating additional capacity to serve patients and their families.
COOL FACT
AI Solutions installed more than five million feet of cable throughout the project—enough cable to stretch nearly 950 miles, or about the distance from Pittsburgh to Jacksonville, Florida.
Another notable milestone: the project was led in the field by IBEW Superintendent Erica Skoog, one of the few female superintendents overseeing a project of this size and complexity.
